Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, Mexico - Riot police forcibly removed thousands of striking public school teachers from Oaxaca City's main plaza. The teachers had held the square for the past 20 days, but were dispersed by police shooting teargas from helicopters in the early morning hours. Police reportedly shot and killed 8 adults and 3 young children including an 8 year-old girl. At least one police officer was also shot and wounded.
