Bilbao, Basque, Spain - Hundreds of supporters of the banned separatist Batasuna (Unity) movement marched to the ruling Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) headquarters chanting "Independence" and pro-Basque slogans, before masked riot police viciously dispersed the demonstration. Batasuna was banned by the Spanish government in 2003 for failing to condemn the terrorist Basque separatist group ETA (Basque Homeland and Freedom) and for alleged ties to the underground group.
