Timur Kacharava

St. Petersburg, Russia - Twenty-year old Timur Kacharava was beaten and stabbed to death last Sunday by a group of eight to ten Nazis after leaving a Food Not Bombs action in Vladimirskaya Square. His friend Max “Zgibov” Zgibai was also attacked and has been hospitalized with serious injuries. Timur was a vegan and a founding member of the political hardcore punk band Sandinista!, which Zgibov has also been a member of. Both were active anarchist organizers who volunteered at the Epicenter Infoshop and were members of St. Petersburg Food Not Bombs. Violent neo-Nazi skinheads are common throughout Western Europe, and frequently target immigrants, homosexuals, anarchists, and radical leftists.
