A government crackdown on squatters and new laws allowing police to detain youth on drug suspicion, in Brisbane, Australia has created a tense situation between street kids and authorities. On Monday young squatters rained bricks, glass, and furniture down on police before being evicted from an occupied building. A group of teenagers, including some who had been evicted from another building following Monday's disturbance, confronted Premier Peter Beattie after a news conference at City Hall demanding an end to harassment.
