A beach side sort of protest called Freedom Camp was established last month in Fulford Harbor on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. The residents are seeking to live a simple life and avoid dependence on the trappings of modern civilization. The island, which was once a haven for Vietnam War draft dodgers, has been burdened with an excess of development which led to the founding of the camp.
