Edinburgh, Scotland - A planned "Carnival of Full Enjoyment" street party turned violent when police tried to preemptively shut it down. Demonstrators showered police with rocks garbage cans and other projectiles as 90 people where arrested on minor charges. Elsewhere anti-G8 protester blockaded a nuclear submarine base.
